Thanks for stopping by.
Well.... let me tell you straight off this week, no messing about... I have a guilty secret... The weekend came and there was I thinking about all the cleaning, christmas shopping, card writing, decoration sorting, list making, pudding making, dog walking etc.. that I should do and wondering what to tackle first, (after all I only had 24 hours)! when everything began to seem just a little over whelming. So I fled upstairs to my craft room, shut the door, put on Michael Buble and spent a very pleasant 4 hours making STUFF! I did feel guilty but it was great therapy. So my desk is very busy and you'll spot the theme straight away!
Have you guessed it yet? Yep... Christmas trees were the order of the day. All sorts..
small twiggy ones...
Middle sized paper ones in the style of the lovely Christy Tomlinson...
I love the way this one turned out because I didn't like the background at all but I just threw everything at it and didn't worry too much and it came out better than I expected! You can see Christy making her wonderful canvases on You tube... I think this is the December kit or a link to her blog is on the right.
Lastly a large 12" x 18" canvas in (if I may say so) my own style... a la Beazley.... TA DAH....
The light in this photo is quite poor and really doesn't do it justice so a few close ups of the detail might help.
I used acrylic paint for the background, stencilled and stamped a bit too with Distress Inks. I wanted it to be fairly neutral and plain so I kept it simple for a country look.
Well that's the sum total of my Christmas shopping this weekend LOL! Hope you all did better than me.
Have a happy week

Your twig trees are wonderful! You got a lot done in that time. Sometimes we just need crafting therapy. :-)

That's my way of coping with stress. Run to the craft room. Great therapy and a heck of a lot cheaper than a therapist! Does me more good,
ReplyDeleteI love your trees, did I say I LOVE LOVE LOVE your trees. So happy to visit you this week!
