First Christmas card and a day out in Bath

Hello and another Wednesday has come round in the blink of an eye!
I have made another little card from the dies shown last week.

Remember the cute little houses? Sorry it's a C..........s card. Can't say that word just yet.
We had friends to stay over the weekend and then on Monday Ali and I spent a great day together in beautiful Bath. I'll share some photos with you, I'm sure she won't mind!
First we went to the famous Cresent where many a period drama has been filmed. Stunning.

Then a round circle of Georgian houses called The Circus...

We then visited the Fashion Museum... which told the story of fashion from about 1750 until the present day. Loads to look at and read so it took us a while!

We had fun dressing up but the skirts on the dresses were very heavy. How did women wear those all day long! And you couldn't get dressed by yourself, you needed someone to do all the ribbons up at the back... Not to mention those awful stays/corset thingys that you were laced so tightly into.

Lunch ..

A tasty Italian platter to share and we even sat outside..

But what about the SHOPPING I hear you cry! Have no fear, plenty of retail therapy to be had in the afternoon...
And cake....

What a brilliant day! Best day of the holidays so far... thank you Ali for your great company and driving all that way.
Well..... I hope you can spend some time with a friend... nothing like it!
Have a happy week

Lynda B X

  6. That platter looks great was the empty plate before eating or after. Looks as if you had a good time, those costumes and you could try them on. Anickoana #14

  7. Hi Lynda, looks like you & Ali had a fab day. Bath has so much glorious architecture, doesn't it? The meal looks scrummy, always makes me smile that we are not supposed to use wooden chopping boards because of hygiene, yet they can serve meals on them! Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #4 XxX

    1. Hi Shaz there were squares of like greaseproof paper under the food that were thrown away afterwards. I suppose thats a nod towards hygiene! Hope youre ok. Nice to be back on WOYWW x

  8. You're ahead of the game with that Xmas card! Looks like a lovely day out in Bath. Ever wondered how those ladies went to the toilet in those dresses? :O Or did anything else for that matter! Have fun this week! zsuzsa #29

  9. Hi Lynda. Nice card ... but too early!! Lol. Your day out looked lovely. I've had the same thoughts myself about those dresses! I vaguely remember my grandmother always wore long heavy dresses. No wonder she walked slowly with the weight of them. Have a lovely week, Heather #30

  10. Love those little houses on the card, how cute! I'm making that sort of card too, it's because I have workshop commitments and I want to send a few batches to the Brain Tumour charity for their fund raising attamepts in October. Still seems odd though, whatever the excuse!
Bath is as lovely as ever by the sound of things, lovely to se pics of you two enjoying a day together. Fab.

  11. Looks like a wonderful trip to Bath! we have a Bath in Ontario as well, but nothing like yours! That lunch you had is my favourite kind of lunch - bread, cheese and meat, with a few olives and other veggies thrown in, and wine of course! I could live on that! Your C--s card is lovely, but it's way too early for me too! Thanks for sharing, Lindart #35

    Happy WOYWW
