WOYWW- Enjoying summer!

Hello WOYWWers!,

Well… I hope you have all been able to enjoy the gorgeous summer weather! Hubby's Mum came to stay last week and at 84yrs young, I must say she did remarkably well in the heat, especially visiting the Royal Welsh Show where we all nearly melted! We have visited beaches, parks and went out for a meal. Great week.

Llanelli Beach at 8pm and still 24 degrees.

Stunning Rhossili bay.

Sunset at Burry Port harbour.

We were sitting in the garden one day bemoaning the fact that all the butterflies that we used to see as kids, we just don't see anymore when this beauty came along! A beautiful Peacock. It really made our day!

My desk this week is very much 'work in progress'.

I am making a wedding card for our friend's daughter who is getting married on Saturday. The invitation and indeed wedding theme is sunflowers and lots of bright yellow, so I am trying to  loosely follow this theme. (Not sure if that's supposed to be a secret. Please don't tell!)

Still just in the planning stage, nothing is stuck down yet, not sure about the pearls around the heart? I love this heart stamp by CHLOE. It's so versatile.

Anyway, just got back from a 12 mile bike ride, first of the summer and feeling pretty sore, so I am off to soak in a hot bath! Visit you all tomorrow!
If you would like to join in this wonderful blog hop, click on the WOYWW button on the right. Our great leader Julia will explain all.

Have a happy week

  1. Wow, Lynda, what a week - the photos are gorgeous, and yes, we don't see the same butterflies we used to, I am sure.... The wedding card looks fab, I love the pearls, personally. Hope the happy couple have a fabulous day on Saturday. Helen 7

  2. In that light, BP harbour could almost be a twin for Monaco!! It's lovely place to be but not in horizontal rain, lol! Glad you had a good week.
That yellow themed wedding card is gorgeous, love it!

  4. Amazing butterfly and looks like a fab holiday. I adore that wheat wreath - so pretty! And I missed last week so lovely to look back at the card in a box - even if it is Christmas ... in JULY! :)

    Happy WOYWW!

  5. Wonderful shots of South wales. I just love it down there! Isn't Wales just the most stunning country? Siarad Cymraig?? You had a great time with hubby's mum - and beautiful weather as well! A lovely card coming on. Great colours. Good shot of that butterfly, too. I hadn't seen a peacock butterfly for ages, then one flew into the garage the other day.
    Take care. God bless.

  7. Oh how I long to live by the sea, how marvellous. Beautiful photos again Lynda. I love the heart stamp, I can see why you think it's versatile. I also like the pearls,,,as an alternative, perhaps some teenier ones dotted randomly about the shape? Personally though, if it ain't broke....! The brde's colours are gorgeous, amongst my faves.

  11. Lovely card. If you want to see the butterflies you need to grow the right type of plants and they will come although certain types of butterflies tend to be more often seen in certain parts of the country.
Here in Lincoln we have a small blue butterfly that I had never seen until we came to live here.
Hope you have a great week and happy crafting, Angela x #38
